What's a STAR PARTY? During the Dessert course of the wine dinner, The President of the Smoky Mountain Astronomical Society will give an exciting and educational presentation of the constellations, Galaxies and Nebulas that will be seen in the crisp January skies. After some instruction and incredible star info - the group and Guest Astronomers will head down to the the Dancing Bear Event Lawn to look for themselves! SMAS will have large telescopes, binoculars and equipment ready for guests to see the beauties of the night sky and will explain how and why we are looking Deep into the Past!
Its going to be an incredible night - but dress warmly and we will bring the cocoa...and the Astronomers!
(In the event of unfavorable viewing we weather, our "rain date" is January 30th. The entire wine dinner and viewing
will be rescheduled and all ticket holders will be notified.)
About Gallica Vineyards
Gallica is nestled in the heart of Napa Valley among historic vineyards, coastal oaks, our gardens and olives. Heritage Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon are rooted in gravelly Cortina soils ambling off nearby Sulphur Creek. Our home is a handsome barn, contemporary and fresh, standing side by side with weathered vines. We strive to practice lightly touching the land from the tending of our vines, thoughtful wine-making methods, to the simplicity of our packaging, Winemaker Rosemary Cakebread’s vision for a wine of her own, eventually called GALLICA, grew slowly.
Inspired by earlier work at prestigious properties in both Napa Valley and Bordeaux, wines were made and a brand grew. The philosophy is a simple one: to craft elegant single vineyard wines farmed organically which accurately depict the site and the story of each unique vintage. GALLICA makes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Albariño, Syrah and limited bottlings of estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. The brand symbol is a tribute to the ancient rose, their aromatics, and enhancement to wine-making. We love what we do and are fortunate to call Napa Valley home.
