For two weeks every summer, the fireflies in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park put on a show like no other. During their peak mating season, visitors to the area can see their incredible synchronous light show in areas like Elkmont.
Due to the immense popularity of this event, the GSMNP offers a ticket lottery beginning in April. Those lucky enough to obtain shuttle passes for the event will be in for a treat! For more information on this event, click here.
