Greetings to our Friends of the Bear! 

We have a busy month ahead of us in town with the leaves changing and lots going on in the area like the Authentic Unlimited show happening at the Heritage Center on the 2nd. On the 7th will be the butterfly tagging project happening up in Cades Cove. Coming up on the 13th will be the Lunch in the Backcountry in 1776 featuring historical dishes guests take part in making themselves as they learn about the William Bean family and the life of the area’s early settlers also at the Heritage Center. Other fun events will include the sorghum making demonstrations happening on the third and fourth weekends of the month as well as Storytelling Sunday on the 18th. Then, on the 31st, there will be Dancing Bear Lodge’s very own Halloween Spooktacular featuring Appalachian storyteller, Elizabeth Rose telling spooky stories around the fire pit at our Appalachian Bistro. If you can’t make it for the first telling, we’ll have another on November 1st.

The Dancing Bean’s Fall Retail Sale has started. It’s a great place to pick up a coffee mug or sweatshirt to stay warm this season! Not to mention, we have new displays with prints by local photographer, Emory Pedigo, and cutting boards designed by Chef Jeff Carter from our Appalachian Bistro.
