Our Appalachian Bistro was recently awarded a 5 Year Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for being in America’s Top 25 Most Romantic Restaurants for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. We are happy with the recognition from TripAdvisor but we also wanted to take some time to go over how we achieved this award and what elements we took into account to make sure that our Appalachian Bistro not only provided residents and visitors of Townsend, TN with delicious food but also offered them an atmosphere and experience that is as romantic as it is unique.

Ambiance

It really goes without saying, but the atmosphere of a restaurant is one of the most important parts of the dining experience. When we set out to make our Appalachian Bistro a premier dining experience, we spent a large amount of time determining exactly how we wanted the restaurant to feel to our diners. We knew that our elevated Appalachian cuisine needed an atmosphere that stuck to its roots in the Great Smoky Mountains, while at the same time delivering an experience that would be memorable. The bistro is rustic yet modern, comfortable yet refined, classy but not pretentious. We wanted to create a space that could be enjoyed by families looking to sample some delicious foods, couples who wanted a special way to celebrate an anniversary, and a place where guests could enjoy food, drinks, and conversations with those who are most important to them.

Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, the restaurant’s surroundings only add to the reasons the DBAB is one the of most romantic in the country. After you are done with your meal, you can enjoy a cocktail under the exposed wooden beams of our Event Hall. Or, if you are feeling a little more active, you can take a walk around our grounds to enjoy the natural beauty that Appalachia has to offer. At night, you can hear the sounds of nature as the surrounding forest comes to life.
