Book Your Midweek Knoxville Romantic Getaway to the Smokies in September and Save

With school starting back across the region, it’s no secret that the pace of things slows down here in Townsend and the Smokies during the weekdays. That includes activity here at Dancing Bear Lodge and other Tennessee resorts. It’s also one of the reasons why it may be exactly the perfect time for couples from Knoxville and afar to come and stay with us!

When you take advantage of the “Stay and Save Deal”* for a limited time, you can book a 3-night getaway to Dancing Bear and stay Sunday night for only $99*! This is the perfect opportunity to plan an adventure to The Smokies and create memories worth sharing and repeating!

While our weekends are nearly full with guests, we still have some availability for mid-week Stays in September.

Let us give you a few reasons why this is a great time to stay at Dancing Bear Lodge and take advantage of the “Stay and Save Special”*:

Enjoy Peace and Quiet at Tennessee Resorts for Couples

Even at the height of the busy season, this area is called the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies”. Just imagine the tranquility you can experience while avoiding the crowds of tourists that naturally flock to popular nearby attractions like Cades Cove during the busy summer vacation period and on weekends. There’s a sweet spot in the month of September and early October before more traffic returns to take in the spectacle of autumn as leaves begin changing colors in mid-October through the start of November.

Your time together in a Dancing Bear Cabin or Villa can be even more special knowing that you’ve got more solitude than you might get in the peak of the tourist season. Enjoy a lazy morning in one of our hammocks, the tranquility of your cozy cabin, or a quiet walk on our property’s walking trails, focusing entirely on enjoying each other’s company while surrounded by the beauty and serenity of our Smoky Mountain retreat.

Gourmet Food from our Tennessee Mountain Restaurant and more!

You can kick off your Sunday Stay with Sunday Supper at the Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro. Chef Shelley Cooper will surprise and delight you, the dinner menu changing weekly to reflect the freshest available ingredients for her to craft something wonderful. A nightcap at the ‘Bar at the Bear’ or s’mores roasting around the firepit is a fantastic way to bring your first night visiting Townsend to a wonderful end.

Wanting more? Further enhance your Smoky Mountain adventure by arranging for delivery of a Gourmet Mountainside Picnic basket prepared by the Dancing Bear kitchen. We recommend ordering it as a special Add-On when you make your lodging reservation, as 48-hours notice is needed to prepare this very special meal ahead of your mid-day or afternoon excursion on a Monday or Tuesday.

The slower mid-week pace is reflected in our decision to close the restaurant on Monday and Tuesday evenings (reopening on Wednesday evenings), but that doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of more great eats. Many of our accommodations come with full kitchens stocked with cookware, and grills are available. If you don’t feel like cooking yourself, the friendly staff at the Dancing Bear office at Apple Valley Mountain Village are happy to recommend some great area restaurants – and/or you can dine at the Apple Valley Café Express, where guests rave about the toppings bar, and try the baked goods at the brand new Dancing Bean Coffee House and Bakery at the foot of the hill. If you decide to extend your weekday stay a little longer, the Bistro reopens on Wednesdays, and you can discover the Chef’s Supper well priced at $35pp for 3 courses featured on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Cooler Weather to Explore Romantic Getaways in East Tennessee

As the oppressive summer heat finally breaks and temperatures start to gradually transition to seasonal patterns in September, you can enjoy cooler evenings that are perfect for snuggling while sharing one of our amazingly comfortable beds, watching the flames in your fireplace or relaxing in a jacuzzi tub on the back deck. With summer ending September 22nd, you’ll still have plenty of daytime warmth to get outside and hike to local waterfalls. After this magical time together, you’ll be left wanting to book your return trip in September every year!

Tennessee Romantic Vacations: Smoky Mountain Adventures at Your Own Pace

There’s plenty of fun to be had while you visit us, and fewer lines to wait in when you visit on a weekday! Aside from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you can also enjoy peaceful hikes or the serenity of long drives through beautiful mountainsides while the trees are still green before starting that annual transition to brilliant colors. You can visit the beer garden at Apple Valley or sample the assortment of wines at Cades Cove Cellars, our neighborhood winery next door. We have a few suggestions of things to do when you visit Townsend TN.
