Full-Service Lodging & Amenities

Dancing Bear Lodge offers a level of rustic comfort and service that sets it apart from what many have come to expect compared to cabin rentals or standard hotels in the Townsend, TN area. We are a full-service Lodge offering hotel-like amenities such as linens, complimentary daily housekeeping, and a gourmet continental breakfast at Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro. You’ll find your accommodations stocked with plenty of guest supplies such as bar soap, conditioning shampoo, lotion, and other essentials. Our cabins and cottages with full kitchens are supplied with all cooking and dinnerware. Just like staying in a Townsend TN hotel, you don’t have to bring anything from home except yourself and your clothes — just relax and let the serenity soak in.

Unplug & Relax

Once you arrive, you’re greeted with complimentary WiFi, our Apple Valley Locally Roasted Coffee, and televisions so the familiar comforts of home are right at your fingertips. If you want to unplug all of the gadgets and escape the outside world, you can spend your time rocking on a porch, hiking a trail, fly fishing in Little River, or finding a quiet spot to sit and relax with a Gourmet Mountainside Picnic Basket. You’re also just minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville.

Step Into the Smokies

Our Smoky Mountain Resort is your base camp for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, located just minutes from our property. Guests love the proximity to this tranquil and peaceful National Park, home to over 187,000 acres of Appalachian forest, which includes hundreds of miles of rivers, lakes, streams, wildlife habitats and more. There is no wonder as to why our gorgeous area is referred to as, “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies.”

  • Without a doubt the nicest...

“Without a doubt the nicest place to stay and eat dinner. Accommodations were perfect from the hot tub on the back deck to the fireplace. We stayed in the Doe Knob cabin….king size bed comfortable as well as the two overstuffed leather chairs in front of the fireplace. Just wonderful. We will return.”

  • Just a short 2-hour drive...

“We recently visited our son & his family & stayed at ‘The Dancing Bear Lodge’ on his recommendation. It was way beyond our expectation. We stayed in a one bedroom casita w/ fabulous bath. It had a kitchenette, living area w/ a fireplace in the woods. It couldn’t have been more charming. We’ll definitely be back!”

  • Home Test Slider Short

“The cabin at Dancing Bear, a deluxe, was beautifully rustically decorated, we had a huge comfy bed, and we absolutely loved making our own easy fire in the hearth with logs and fire starters available. There was fruit, homemade granola, and yogurt, as well as excellent coffee in our cabin for the morning.”

  • This is now my family’s favorite property...

“This is now my family’s favorite property and hosts! We just returned from staying at Changes In Altitude, and we’re already discussing our next trip. The hosts are amazing, own the best restaurant in the area, and couldn’t have been more accommodating. I can’t recommend this property and pair of hosts highly enough.”
